dandy gifts for your dandy peeps
the only reason i discovered this store, which is in a rather odd location, is my weekly travels to the circus center for dune's circus arts class.... but i am hooked! it has a gorgeous, random collection of gifts and household / lifestyle items that make me smile and the price is right. wood color dot dominos for dune's birthday: $20. gaint novelty calculators that do actually work: $20. little paper cocktail umbrella mobile: $12 i mean really, YOU could make it for less? it's the perfect spot for random gifts and strange treasures, especially for those people and we all know at least one of them, that seem to have everything and you really want to get them a gift but your left scratching your head wondering if the um-teenth bottle of wine isn't getting a little old.... anyway, stumasa has especially great children's toys, books, dollhouses, wooden vegetables and a cash register, giant alphabet flashcards and then! for the grown-ups, fab notecards, rubber stamp collections, storage solutions, pins, furniture, lights and more...... every time i go in i find something i hadn't seen last time even though the guy there assures me they've had it since the fall! everything is this weird retro modern aesthetic and it's all very beautiful and nice in your hand. i like the store and i'd like to see them do well, so here's my five-star double thumbed cherries on top recommendation!
