The best place to get outdoors
My roommate and I recently moved to the area and we decided we wanted to go hiking outside one Saturday at the end of May. We got directions to Mount Diablo Park and had such a great time there. I felt like a kid again, the butterflys floated by us without a care in the world, the caterpillar we picked would soon be just as beautiful. Even the ant colony made me feel insignificant as I realized how much gorgeous nature is really out there. Get out there, check it out. They also have great mountain biking trails and the guide at the tourism office is super helpful about what trails to take and how long it will take to do each different trail! - Colleen , posted 06/24/05

I love this place!!!
There are so many trails ranging from easy to hard. I still have not hiked to the top and back in one day. You can drive to the top and see wonderful views. On a very clear day after a storm you can see Yosemite. There is also a really cool waterfall trail worth hiking to in the spring. - Summer , posted 06/11/05

mt. diablo state park
spring is best if you are not fond of hot temperatures and dry creek beds. there is no jumping in and cooling off during the summer. during the spring however, this mountain is a destination. for wildflowers take olympia peak trail; for rock climbing, check out rock city; and for a view of mt. shasta, go to the top.
