start with the sake : only one daughter

and choice items from the menu i recommend :
the new year soup special!!!! and the house blend rice
jade nuggets (tempura-fried shiso leaves filled with mustard flavored natto)
daitoku-ji fu (chewy wheat protein bar with lemon yummyness)
the grilled eggplant (don't miss this)
spinach and persimmon salad (another 5star item)

dessert! the coconut soup with little cubes and white mushrooms!
and the matcha (master green tea that will keep you up and chatty for h o u r s)

the space is super open, clean, urban japanese style. the one wall of windows overlooks sutter street with food-hall style room with long tables and benches. word is that at lunch during the week it's very rushed, but on a saturday evening it was zen-like. i left full and s a t i s f i e d! for hours and hours! who knew vegan food could be so delightful!?
