Fancy French
The atmosphere was perfect. Garcon is fancy, but not so fancy I was worried about spilling my drink or talking too loud. All of the staff were speaking French, and as the night wore on the bar filled with Franciphones sipping champagne or wine. The food was excellent. As usual, there was only one veggie entree: Cousous with vegetables. The sauce was served separate from the grain and you could mix as you liked. It was good, but not near as good as my partner's lobster raviolis. I watched his eyes roll up in his head as he swooned over the sauce, savoring every bite. We had a very tasty salad with blue cheese and a cheese plate for starters. Both went very niceley with the half-bottle of local wine. Finally, a shared dessert of vanilla flan which had a perfect sugar crust on top. I would highly recommend visiting Garcon. Do plan on making an evening out of it, because the service is deliciously slow. Oh so French. On top of all that, the name is fun to say several times aloud. Go on, try it! - Kathy , posted 01/21/06
