Good selection, Bad attitude
While in principle I like much of what Whole Foods is about, in practice shopping there, partciularly the Berkeley location, can be a nightmare.
The aisles are on the cramped side, the staff and shoppers alike are constantly running into you without so much as a "sorry" or "pardon me", or alternately they stand in the way inconsiderate and oblivious to everyone else around them (yeah man... let's smoke a bowl and go buy some wheat germ... great idea), and I have recieved some of the most non-verbally unpleasant service ever from many of the checkers. Weird, angry vibes and scowls aplenty. If you're lucky they *might* acknowledge you with a grunt. Or a "Fuck you, corporate scum!" if they think you're cute.
Sheesh, drop your preconceptions that anyone who smells nice and wears a sportcoat is working for The Man, already. If I wanted to bone Mother Earth up the ass I'd be shopping at Safeway instead, now wouldn't I?
I do like their olives.
But I should probably just go to AG Ferrari or someplace instead.
