This has been a great fiction book on the beginnings of the circus in the states during the Depression era. It's the memories of an old man and his jump onto a moving train that happened to be the circus! It was not an easy life and the descriptions of the separation of workers to performers and the way the show was set up and taken down all in a day seems pretty acurate. It has been hard to put down and has given me some awesome dreams of elephants and sequins and color. I'm almost done so if you wanna borrow it........... - HollyHooo , posted 01/26/07 |
