Great Food, Lousy Service
These folks make great food, but their service is lacking . Also, the layout of the restaurant is unwelcoming; it's not obvious what to do when you walk in.

But I love the food! - Unsubscribed , posted 11/18/04

It LIVES!
Raw foodists, vegans, vegetarians rejoices! Finally, a place to eat, where you can look at the WHOLE MENU!! This restaurant makes food take exotic, fresh and exciting without it ever being cooked. As well as a full, tantalizing menu of tasty food treats, they also have a wide array of juices and smoothies. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/16/04

kind of new age but worth the granola
a mainly raw menu, mostly organic ingredients and decent prices. The salads are good, the wraps are awesome, the rice bowls are phenomenal. There are three urban forages , one in the lower haight, one in the castro, and their main restaurant is in the mission. - domini , posted 10/15/04

Best vegan & raw food
Excellent selection of fresh juice and smoothies. They have both raw and cooked foods and a great cashew nut ice cream sundae. - Raquel , posted 10/15/04

Yummy vegan food - no, really!
You've got to try the grilled sweet potatoes - they're to die for. And the black bean burgers are terrific too. But don't miss the vanilla rose shake! Yum! - Unsubscribed , posted 10/15/04

Yummy and filling raw cuisine
I was very impressed with the service and quality of food at this new organic, vegan, and mostly raw restaurant. There are three locations in the city, one in the Castro (on Castro near Market), one in the Mission (on Valencia between 16th and 17th) and one on Fillmore near Haight. I had a very delicious sesame seaweed salad that seemed extremely nutritious and was also quite filling. This restaurant also uses compostable silverware which is great- they're probably close to being a no-waste establishment. The location on Fillmore also has a gallery and center upstairs called the "Hive" with yoga and meditation classes, etc. Check it out! - Kim , posted 10/14/04

Urban Forage is pretty tasty
The "offcial" website (urbanforage.com/) is out of date, but I put a link to another review. I've been 3 times, and was pretty happy, although they seem to be always out of a few things, like mung beans! I like their phatty salad with the tahini dressing. The "nice cream" is pretty amazing, too.

Also, check this list out:
