Two Gals with a Truck

After attempting to seek help from the DA, California Public Utilities Commission and the BBB, I have found that the only way is to file a small claims suit. The BBB will not handle cases against two gals because it is out of their purview. I have called a couple of small claims attorneys and they said that it will cost more to file a claim than the actual amount that I am asking to be reimbursed. However, they also said that I would most likely win and be awarded my deposit plus the small claims fee. At this point, it is no longer about the money but the principle. Therefore, I will definitely be filing a suit. But after some thought, I realized that one $50 suit is nothing. However, if we were to combine our efforts and file a joint case where each is asking for our $50-$100 deposit refund, it would be much more effective. Anyone who wants to go in on a small claims case with me, please message me. If you choose to do something on your own, you will need an address for the papers to be served. Here is Lisa’s home address: Lisa Meleanek 2130 Isabelle Ave. San Mateo, CA 94403 And here is small claims info: LegalZoom.com (everything can be done online, and they will take care of everything) Or Small Claims Division Civic Center Courthouse 400 McAllister Street, Room 103 San Francisco, CA 94102-4514 Small Claims Courts were established to handle minor legal disputes quickly, inexpensive and fairly. I hired Two Gals with a Truck after my roommate, who used them 2x before, raved about them. After taking a cash deposit from me they never showed. I called and emailed about 50 times and they ignored me. They did the same thing to my roommate two days later. Neither of us has received our money back (hey do you think that they are claiming it on their income taxes?), and are now being ignored by Lisa Meleanek. After seeing so many similar reviews, I am writing to all of you who this has happened to. Here is my plan of action but I need your help. 1. I have already filed a complaint with the Attorney General and suggest that you do the same: ag.ca.gov/contact/complaint_form.php 2. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB and suggest that you do the same: odr.bbb.org/odrweb/publi...omplaint.aspx (When filing a complaint you will need their home address: San Francisco, CA ) 3. Finally, I have posted an ad on craigslist to collaborate with the rest of the victims out there. There are now enough of us who have NOT had our deposit returned by Lisa that we can collaborate and file a claim against her to get our money back. sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/lbs...199.html Please respond to this ad so that we can get our money back. I NEED YOUR HELP! If we combine our efforts we can avoid anyone else being victimized. - sf , posted 01/21/08 |

I contracted the "gals" twice and I have been very pleased with the service they provided. If you want them to show up at 12:07PM sharp then they might not be the right people for the job, but if you are a just a bit flexible and can wait two hours you are likely to receive very good service at a very affordable price (and which company would guarantee this in writing anyway ...). - Bjoern , posted 08/11/07 |

Bait and switch approach to your potential clients is why 99% reviews here is negative. BAIT - claiming that you are the best on Craigslist SWITCH - newer show up and never call to say sorry. I wish somebody will read this before calling that lousy service - Alex , posted 01/30/07 |

I had an appointment at 10 am with these women. I thought I had scheduled everything perfectly, junk would be removed from the front of the garage first and then the next day salvation army would remove the donations from the back. At 9am Lisa called to tell me she would be late and would be there at 11am. Fine, not a huge deal but I did take the morning off of work to be there. At 11:30 I called and left a message to please give me a new time. No response. At 12:30 I had enough and went to work pissed off. No repsonse the next day or the next. I had to cancel the appointment with Salvation Army and reschedule both donation and dump runs. What a mess. I ended up calling EcoHaul, they hauled both junk and donations in one trip! After reading all the reviews, I'm glad we didn't give them a deposit. - Laura , posted 11/07/06 |

They gave us an estimate for a moving job, took a cash deposit, never showed never called. When we called them we were told they slept in as they had worked late the night before and that they'd be there in an hour. Four hours later we began hauling things ourselves as the move was planned and had to be completed that day. A truly miserable experience. it's been a week and we still have not heard from them despite leaving phone messages. They have no address on their estimates or their cards and the one address we did find in a web search does not match their phone number and the zip code for it does not match the address. Altogether a pretty scabby operation. - paula , posted 05/11/06 |

Lisa's "2 Gals & A Truck" service is cheap, friendly, and hard-working. They helped moved me out of the apartment I shared with my ex and were happy to tell me that he was smarmy and I could do better. Psychotherapy and hauling all in one! How great is that! - Orc Princess , posted 10/19/04 |
