yay Torrid!
"Plus sized" (I hate that term) clothing for women and girls who don't want to look stodgy. I've gotten some really good dresses there. I agree with the previous poster who mentions that not all the clothes are very well-made, so as she said, check it carefully. Go in to the store rather than shop online if possible. I think there is a Serramonte or Stonestown Torrid now. I hope so! - meagan , posted 01/20/05

Excellent when on clearance
In these times, one must pinch pennies. And nickels and dimes. And especially $20s. Torried has a lot of great clothing in a variety of "subcultures" (spooky, hippie, hipster, etc.), but when a shirt costs $40-50... ouch!

The thing to do is head to the back of the shop and check out the clearence racks-- MUCH BETTER! Yep, the selection is limited, but at least the prices are workable. Alternately, go to their website and check out the clearance there. No returns, so make sure you're familiar with the particular brand's sizing. - object88 , posted 10/15/04

Amazing style
Torrid is the only place for the trendy 20 something to find alternative clothing in sizes 16-24. (They're a plus sized version of HotTopic) The only problem I've had there is that some of their vendors don't stitch the clothing as well as I would like. Double check what you're buying to make sure that you're getting a well made item and you'll walk out with an amazing bargain. Don't pass by their sale racks! - WildChyld , posted 10/06/04

Hip clothes for the plus size gal
This store appeals to the younger plus size market (teens-30's). Very fashionable clothes. Great tee's. And I even found boots that fit my calves. They are on the goth side but also have some mainstream choices. - Sabyl , posted 10/06/04
