Great food, nice waitstaff!
this is a gem of a place in Noe Valley. I love me some breakfast foods and my scrambled eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns was really great! It took awhile to get seated on a saturday afternoon but well worth it. - , posted 01/06/07

best breakfast even for dinner
Joe’s resurrected! 1748 Church Street / 29th St., former site of Joe’s Diner, now reopened for the past few months as “Toast“. The diner now remodeled as a modern clean line earth toned mosaic tiled open space. It has a warm feel to go with the aromatic fragrances of fresh made Belgian Waffles and home cooked flavorful food. For good reasons; sauces, dressings, soups and chili are home made by mom, herself ! It is a family own and run operation. If you are their when the family is there you’ll understand why Toast has that touch. Clean but in no way sterile in it’s comfy-ness. The menu is huge! Featuring breakfast: scramblers, omelets, house favorite ( my choice is Hash Brown Hill, 4 in by 5 inch pile square of balanced textured hash browns covered with a blanket of melted cheddar, dolloped with sour cream, black olives, avocado and green onions, yum!) buttermilk pancakes, croissant or sourdough French toast, Belgian waffles, stuffed bagels, burgers that even a vegetarian can sink their teeth into, sandwiches your way to the specialty sandwiches with salad or fries, home made soup, chili, salads, to even a kid’s menu. I almost forgot desert, that is if you have room in that full belly. You know what the best part is? They're open from 7 am to 9 PM! The locals have made their way back to this cozy little spot, so the only draw back is it is very busy on the weekends during the peak hours. So if you are jonesing then it is worth the wait! or come later or week days to be able to take your time. - E.S.S. , posted 01/04/07
