Tilden park is a treasure to behold.
hands down the best place for little ones to swim. They have the deep water roped off so the babes stay out of danger. The swimming is only the tip of the iceberg here. There is too much to discover in one day. I am always amazed by Tilden Park. We are so lucky. - Wasabininja , posted 04/27/05

Best park in the WOOORRRLD
What can you do at Tilden? Oh man, what can you NOT do? You can swim, hike, walk your dog, ride a merry go round, a little helpless pony in the hot sun, camp, have a BBQ, a party, a wedding anniversary, a bar mitvah .. whatever you want! The lake is seasonal though but the snack bar has the best crock pot nachos ever. - Jerkey , posted 10/19/04

Good Hike, but kinda tired...
The hikes in Tilden are great, but there are few that are off the beaten path, and if there are I haven't found them. great views of the bay and reservoir and easy hikes. - Nathalie , posted 10/07/04

Best Natural Area just outside the city
Tilden park has a many wonderful things to offer: a lake great for swimming, a merry-go-round, steam trains, horseback riding, hiking trails, picnic areas, scenic overlooks, biking and walking paths...great for driving out to look at the stars! - Bonnie , posted 10/07/04

Beautiful but crowded
Great place to run and hike. But NEVER go on the weekend. It's got more people than the tenderloin of San Francisco. - Meggers , posted 10/07/04

Deep forest and a swimming lake right over the berkeley hills
Tilden park is really big. It goes from near the 24 tunnel to Richmond, just over the hill from Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito and Richmond. You can find trails in the woods, the swamps, the lake, the streams and the sky. Really beautiful. - tejas , posted 10/06/04

Tilden Park Has It All
Take the dog, kids, bike, hangglider, whatever. Tilden Park has room for everyone to roam, and then some. Pet the fuzzy cuties at the Little Farm, ride the steam train. Fancy a round of golf? And there's hiking galore, with some of the best views in the East Bay. - Andrew , posted 10/06/04
