Let's put this in perspective
Ok, originally I was giving this place a 3. And then I realized it's a crepe place and it's only fair to compare it to other crepe places. It's clean, well run, and the fillings are more than decent. So, if you are hungry for crepes go here.

However, if you compare this to a regular restaurant, be real... It's only a crepe! - James , posted 11/29/06

play with it a little
I've been eating here for 6 years and love it, but I never order their suggested savory crepes. I second the person who talked up the mushroom sauce... it really is super yummy. My favorite combination: Savory w/carmelized onions, tomatoes, and mushroom sauce... and for dessert: Sweet w/lemon sauce and chocolate sauce. I also love that they'll close the restaurant in order to support their staff (last year, hurricane season) and they host events for social justice (Celebration of Resistance last month). The wait varies based on when you go. The last 5 times I've gone, I had no wait to have dinner... I went at 5:30-6. I give it 4 stars only because it can get pretty loud, and the tables are kinda close together. - Teresa , posted 06/18/06

Very good food, long wait, alright drinks
Go in, put your name on the board and wait 30 mintues for your name to be called. Wander over to the bar while you wait and watch the bartender make a REAL bloody mary from scratch. Very impressive, and tasty. Most of the specialty drinks are what you expect: very cool sounding, less tasty than you'd like. Perfectly serviceable, though.

The food is very tasty, the ingredients good and fresh tastying, and the salads are worth having on the side. I didn't care for the dessert crepe my party got, but the chocolate mousse I got was possibly the best I've ever had in a non-hoity-toity french restaurant. - holly , posted 01/18/06

not what I was expecting
Was there last night [A last minute late Sunday dinner]. Mediocre service. I ordered the Smoked Salmon crepe and could not believe how salty it was. I couldn't finish it. It was disgusting.

Perhaps being the last people in the restaurant didn't help, we arrived up a good 1/2 hr before closing, but I won't be back. - Unsubscribed , posted 11/21/05

crapes..... thinking about them makes me hungry
waiting time is usually long, but it's worth it. I sometimes wish their crapes were bigger! My favorite is smoked salmon and onion crape! Oh their lemonade (I think.. or a mint drink?) is good too! - Unsubscribed , posted 10/08/05

rare and wonderful
great food - have a savory, then have a sweet, and call yourself full. Also good in the neighborhood (helped keep the produce market on the corner in biz when they've faltered after the dot-boom crash took the local economy with it for a while). - Ruth , posted 09/25/05

Too cheesy? Get outta town.
The mushroom sauce, caramelized onions, and salmon preparations are unbeatable. Noone makes anything like them, and even now I can remember their strong and distinctive taste. The Mission's best place to sip a kir while having a web redesign strategy meeting. - oudplayer , posted 08/20/05

come on! it's too greasy and overrated!
I love cheese but gosh it's too much cheese and not enough good fillings. OVer stuffed is not good either but it seems they skimp on the fillings and they don't pass on the savings. Basicly, paying too much for cheesey goodness in a heavy buckwheat shell. Also I found it very inconsistant. oh well. - KSE , posted 03/30/05

Mushroom Sauce is the Secret
So many of the crepes can be plain. BUT the secret is the mushroom sauce. Get the Complete with extra mushroom sauce. I don't know what it is but that stuff rocks and will have you hooked. Their dessert crepes are pretty good and salads are ok. Their Lattés are amazing. Served in huge cups. It's sort of cold inside so it really feels like Europe. Old painted wood is the theme. When it's sunny and warm out the sidewalk seating is great. Just don't leave your cash on the table when you leave. The homeless will take it! - Pete , posted 01/26/05

I don't think it's overrated.
I really like Ti Couz. The rougher texture of the traditional Breton crepe might not be for everyone - it took me a while to get used to it. But unlike the Squat and Gobble places, I feel like there is more care put into the selection and preparation of the ingredients. It's a little expensive for me, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I always have good service when I go (and I am a picky bitch about service). It *can* be noisy, but that doesn't bother me much. As previous posters have noted, you can always go outside. I like supporting Ti Couz and have been really happy with them for years. - meagan , posted 01/20/05

One of my top 5 favorites
I haven't been to Brittany (yet) but these were as good as (if not better) than the other crepes I have had in France. Every crepe I've had has been perfect. My personal favorite is not on the menu: Almond, Tomato and Cheese. You can also buy some of their crepes to take home and freeze -- be sure to order them right away as they make them fresh along with your order.

I have had some bad service here in the past, but of all the times I have gone in the last few years, it's been good.

Not only is it a good date place but it is also a good place to take your mom.

I definitely think it's worth the wait. - Maryann , posted 12/30/04

This is one of the best crepe places in the city, and even though you may find yourself waiting in a long line to get in, it's worth it. Plus they have a full bar with one of the best Mojito recipes in town. Go now, your tummy will thank you. - Bonnie , posted 12/23/04

Great salads, AWESOME drinks
The normal crepes are ok, but expensive for what they are; the dessert crepes are delicious, but go to Ti Couz for their salads -they have a kickass seafood salad, or their special of the day salad is almost always wonderful. The best part of Ti Couz is its drinks! YUM. They are amazing. - Shannon , posted 12/15/04

Bring the family, it's worth any waiting
This is an amazing crepe bistro, I doubt that there isn't anything on there menu that would not be delicious. The salmon crepe is like a giant bilini and all the desserts are fresh. They are really nice if you have an older child (6 to 10 year old) with you too and will accomodate you with a kid's crepe.
the staff is sooo friendly. - Cactus , posted 12/15/04

Want a crepe, or a crepe?
There's two styles of crepes in the city. Places like squat and gobble, or Crepevine in O-town, serve a meal of American crepe - large, cheap, and tasty. Ti Couz gives you a real normandie experience - at the price of a real resturant, maybe even overpriced. I've found dinners very uneven - don't get the seafood. Come to Ti Couz for good drinks, euro-feel, and that particular taste. Go somewhere else for an inexpensive but tasty lunch. - brian , posted 12/15/04

Best. Crepes. Evah!
Yummy Normandie buckwheat style crepes in the Mission. Try the seafood salad (large is huge, small is good to split for two people with another crepe). It's super delicious but it took me years before I strayed from the crepe menu. Parking sucks, but it's worth it. - Durant , posted 12/14/04

I don't like the crepe, WAY TO SMALL
I ate at this place last year. The crepes are way to small and not very good. My date had to go to another restaurant to eat because he was still hungry. I was shocked with the lack of size. YES size does matter. I prefer "Fritz on Hayes Street vs this place." At least you can eat outside in their back Garden, inlieu of on the street and deal with all the unnecessary NOISE on 16th street. - Unsubscribed , posted 11/16/04

O.L.D. (Overrated. Lame. Disappointing)

I'd just as soon head over to any of the Squat and Gobble creperies. I have tried several times over the years to enjoy these overpriced, dry-ass stingily filled crepes served to me by bitter and ill-trained wait-staff, but I have yet to succeed. I still can't see what people go so gaga for this place. Pleah!!

i started going there as soon as it opened ('93?) when it was just half the size it is now. the veggie salad is as excellent as ever. french onion soup is also good. and of course, the crepes and sauces are just plain tasty. then there's cider and the welsh ale. a little known fact: if you bring your own vessel - you CAN get food to go. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/30/04

Best Crepes
This place is consistently delicious and a world above the clone crepe restaurants in most neighborhoods these days in the city (where you get the greasy potatoes). Everything is delicious -- savory and sweet crepes. Try the lemonade -- you make your own with sugar water and fresh crushed lemon juice. - Psychic , posted 10/21/04

Ti Couz
Cozy setting, original decor, super yummy crepes. Order the indescribably good salad with seared tuna, scallops, capers, egg and other tasty bits. The crepes are square and made of buckwheat flour. They are both crispy and light and rich and savory. There is usually a line to be seated so get a glass of wine at the bar. - Cathy , posted 10/18/04

Simple and Unpretentious
If I don't eat there at least a couple of times a month I feel unfulfilled. It's such a cool and laid back place giving you faith that there's more than just trendy uptight restaurants for good food w/taste. The crepes are deceptively filling. They look thin and simple, but good luck finishing one. Oh yeah, and if you get a savory crepe, make sure you ask for the mushroom sauce, it rocks!!!...and you won't be dissappointed. - P-Air , posted 10/11/04

Great Overall Place - Service a Bit Weak
Despite the fact that it took them about 30 minutes to come get our order, I really enjoyed my last trip over to Ti Couz. We actually had some non-crepe stuff, just for kicks, including a mango gazpacho that was cheap and fabulous. - Wade , posted 09/08/04

Crepes for every palate
Dining at Ti Couz, a regional French-influence creperie, usually entails a wait outside on 16th St., but the people-watching and the fantastically delicious food make the wait well worth it. Make a meal of a shared salad and a savory crepe, then indulge in a nutella sweet crepe for dessert, and walk it off on the way back to your car, which you will have had to park miles away, since the area is always hopping. In addition to its delicious offerings, Ti Couz might inspire you to crepe creating at home! - Dew , posted 09/05/04

Great crepes, just keep it simple
Ti Couz does have some of the best crepes in town. I do recommend that you get a table indoors not out and keep you crepe simple. I always used to make the mistake of trying to combine too many ingredients - the really simple ones, like tomatoes and cheese, or salmon and crème fraiche are the best. The service is generally pretty good, but I must admit to enduring one or two mishaps, like a duck salad with where they forgot the duck, or once being over billed. They were really busy when both these things happened, so I would suggest for less of a wait and better service that one go on a off hour for a late lunch or early dinner. - Maia , posted 08/08/04

Simple and tasty
Other than the rather long waits, TiCouz has an excellent offering of the BEST crepes in the city. All the crepes are made to order. Not a bunch of pancakes being reheated. Their salads also kick ass. A little loud at times, yet very intimate.

Try the salade du mer...an amazing smorgesborg of the sea.

Oh and leave space for desert. - Monika , posted 08/04/04
