Best improv theater in SF!

You gotta love 'em
Now these are some talented actors. Long form improv can be very difficult, but they make it look so easy. As mentioned before, they do every sort of genre. I even saw them do a Lifetime Channel style story. I’m from Los Angeles so my time in the Bay Area is limited, but when I’m there, I make an effort to go see an Un-Scripted show. You should too! - Diana , posted 10/07/04

I saw Three, and Let It Snow
Three:

I won't say it was the most perfect, sublime improv experience ever, 'cause it wasn't. But I did see a group of very talented performers dance with equal adroitness down the widely variant paths of cliche and surreality, balancing beautifully what the audience needed to see with what they didn't expect. With a wholly fresh and solid tale in between, that left me wishing for further episodes at the end. Very cool.

Wow -- ninety minute long-form musical. I don't think I've seen this sort of thing attempted in improv before. I mean, I've seen it tried experimentally, but this was like seeing some sort of mad scientist experiment suddenly being used to save lives in a children's hospital. The Un-Scripted cast managed to get humor, drama, music, and just the right amount of schmaltz for a Christmastime musical, wrapped around some solid characterizations and fine performances by all.

Live it up in Van Meder....

Good times, Good people, Good Improv
I have been to one of each of the different shows Un-scripted puts on, and have never been disappointed. Not only are these people very talented improv actors, but they are also very determined to make sure the audience has a good time. Their shows range from horror to musicals to drama, but are always fun, with plenty of twists, turns, and unexpected laughs. Somehow they always manage to pull it together in the end, which is the true delight of their shows. For the price of a movie ticket, you get two hours of good solid entertainment, and free popcorn! - Matthew , posted 10/07/04

Improv anyone?
I've seen two Un-Scripted shows, and each time they had me laughing so hard I almost pee'd my pants. My friends and I quote occasional lines from the last show we saw and we've already marked our calendar for the next one.

If you like improv, you have to see Un-Scripted - they're all very talented (and not bad looking either! ;) - onlineJessica , posted 10/07/04

Improv Theater at it's finest - Cheap and Fun
Improv Theater can be hit or miss. If you see a good troupe it can be the best live show ever, if you see a bad troupe it can be a rather painful experience. Fortunately the Bay Area has some great improv and the Un-Scripted Theater Company is one of those amazing improv troupes worth seeing. And they don't just limit them selves to just standard improv comedy formats. They also do improvised Shakespeare, musicals, horror, etc. They even did a improv comedy show based on the TV show Survivor with a fully computer animated scoreboard and everything. At as cheap as $7 to get in the door, an Un-Scripted show is a total steal. Now you might think I'm a bit biased because I myself am involved with the Un-Scripted Theater Company, but even The East Bay Express even called Un-Scripted "Some of the most experienced comedy improvisors in the Bay Area". I'm telling you, Un-Scripted puts on darn great shows! - Christian , posted 10/07/04
