Raw, Ensemble Theater
If you like raw, dark ensemble theater, you have to go see The Turn of the Screw. There's only this week left to go see it and it's totally affordable. Only $9 show starts at 7pm. I guess you can say I felt nauseous and irked after (and during) this performance. It was great! I didn't know much about the story (from the novel by Henry James) but now I want to read the book, just so I can go deeper into this twisted world of a lonely governess, tweaked out kids and a creepy world of seduction, deception and humor. What's also exciting is that the audience is right there with the actors, set up so the seating outlines the stage (with other seating as well) and the performers move and act all around you so you get the full-on experience. I also feel that the venue really made it possible as well. There's lots of physical action among this group so you won't be bored! The space isn't that big so Go Now!
