Yup. There's no better place to surrender to the undeniable forces of Bacchus. Toronado has a wicked brew selection - mainly imports, and one that changes as often as it should, and among the staff there's plenty of know. Understand though, in case you're new, we're not here to actually socialize with you, we're here for the beer. Belgian, british, german or russian river - quite possibly all of the above. - Unempty , posted 11/02/06 |

I love the Tornado, there's always a beer I haven't tried yet, and it's almost always fantastic. Plus, they host the Barley Wine festival every year! - Jenni , posted 04/07/06 |

I loved the Sour Peach beer that my friend had when we went. It was just tangy enough to give it a kick when it went down the hatch, and was very tasty. The bar itself is a little loud, and you might be stuck next to someone who's been throwing them back since the morning--so as long as you like colorful company and a great selection of fantastic beer--it's definitely THE place to go - Ruthy , posted 04/07/06 |

well, some people like thier watering holes. Toronado is like a polio pond. The bathrooms are disgusting, the bartenders known dicks but -the beer selection is the best that side of the puddle. The Barley wine festival is superb if you can stomach that much alcohol and live to tell the truth. Personally, i do not frequent it but if you like good beer , it might be the place for you. - Unsubscribed , posted 03/21/05 |

Best beer bar in the state. Great draught selection (all well cared for), including a great selection of local beers. Lots of Belgians, both on draught and in bottles. Beer events throughout the year. - Tim , posted 03/20/05 |

These people are serious about their beers. The beer menu is mind-boggling. It gets really crowded, though, even during the week. I don't really care for the layout or decor, either, but ostensibly you go for the people-watching and predominantly SF crowd. I don't think that many tourists or people from other parts of the bay come here. - Dave K. , posted 03/08/05 |

I've lived in the haight for almost 5 years and this is one of the best spots around. Its not huge, but has at least 20 or so beers on tap you won't find anywhere else. And after a few beerz, you can bust a move without leaving the neighborhood. - Mission Chad , posted 10/28/04 |

everything you want and nothing you don't. good jukebox, good beer, good food nearby, good grafitti in the bathrooms, eveything. my fav ever since by bro used to live 1/2 block away in the mid 90's, and he'd always take me there and we'd get a magnum of duvell with this buddies when I'd visit. a sf classic. - Tom , posted 10/18/04 |

The place is a beer paradise, a mecca for beer drinkers. Specializing in Belgian beers, with 50 or so taps and more bottles than you can count. - robyn 666 , posted 10/18/04 |

No hard liquor, massive board with current beers on tap listed, sports on TV and very casual atmosphere. Back room with tables for 'quieter' hangouts, juke box includes relatively bitchin' tunes, unique beverage selection. Micro brews their specialty, but there are some imports and bottled beer in addition to the brews on tap. Many dark beers and porters, as well as barley wine and spiced cider in cooler months. Right next door to several interesting cafes and shops, but off the beaten path - way in the lower Haight, away from the crush of the 'Ashbury crowd. - jules , posted 10/15/04 |

Dark, curmudgeonly, dank are some of the descriptions used to describe the Toronado. Those are wrong! The bar has character, an awesome jukebox and the best selection of hard to find Belgian Ales, German Beers and British Ales around. Nowhere else will you find a staff that knows so much about good beer and the great tunes playing in the bar. for more info check the site! :) - Unsubscribed , posted 10/15/04 |
