legendary SOMA leather daddy bar, with big ol' covered outdoor smoking patio, friendly staff and rawkin'live music every Thursday night. John the owner, Doug Hilsinger and the staff and DJ's of the bar, are rare folks. They've making live music a part of The Eagle's legacy, and the underpublicized shows are often amongst of the wildest and most amazing in town. Now the home of the big ol Sunday Bear Beer Busts can have drag Neil Young tribute act the Cinnamon Girls. ironically enough i met my last girlfriend at the eagle tavern, i guess anyone can hook up there. seriously the best music selection i've ever heard in a bar, or even college radio on most occasions. you just better be comfortable with a mirror in front of the trough urinal. - q , posted 10/16/04 |

This bar is one of the best remaining gay/lesbian/otherwise thirsty spaces for a drink in The City. The Sunday charity Beer Bust is a reliable good time. After you buy your drinking glass, it is refilled on an unlimited basis between 3:00 and 6:00 P.M.
