The California Theatre for Opera or Film
The Fox Theatre was a San Jose icon for more than 5 decades. Builyt in the 1920s, it fell out of use as a movie theatre in the 1970s, though people still did tours of the classic building. As a part of San Jose's redevelopment program, the Fox has become the Califoria theatre and will be used by the Silicon Valley Symphony and Opera San Jose. The Packard Foundation, which also restored and runs the Stanford Theatre, will also be using it for a good part of the year to show classic films and Cinequest, the San Jose Film Festival, will also run there. - Christopher , posted 09/09/04
