i love this bar, i lived by it for 3 years, and it was the best neighborhood bar ever, with any type of game you can think of available for free (from chess to cards to monopoly to backgammon to more). drinks are pretty cheap, but no hard liquors.... - RA , posted 09/11/05 |

I don't drink, so bars can be boring for me. This one isn't though, because the board games give me something to do that I don't have to be drunk to enjoy! So if you've got a mixed group of drinkers and non-drinkers/designated drivers, take them here. -  Raj

This is a great bar to go to with friends, even if you don't want to drink. The whole place is filled with games. They have tons of board games, including connect five - a personal favorite, behind the bar you can check out, in addition to chess tables, pool, and darts. And there's a popcorn machine in the corner providing free all you can eat munchies. During the winter season they serve hot spiced wine - it's worth going over there just for that. - Katie

This is a decent pub-like bar. A bit pricey, but great and mellow atmosphere. Lots of wood furniture and panelling. Darts, pool, Connect Four, Scrabble, no hassles. Great place to chill and be chilled. - jackie

This is the greatest bar in town. WIth a laid back atmoshpere and board games, how can you lose??? Be sure to come on music nights and hear free music while you play connect four with your friends. Heck the Albatross is such a great place you can meet friends when you get their. And, it is a local hang out for area seminarians. Nobody parties like the seminarians. - Meggers , posted 10/07/04 |

I couldn't believe I could have all-you-can-eat popcorn for a quarter! This is a nice hangout if you have some friends who don't drink. I don't drink (and therefore cannot assess the quality of the bar), but I have fun beating all my drunk friends at the board games. This is also the ideal place to go with guys or girls you may be interested in. A nice, relaxed atmosphere with drinks if you want it, and games to have fun with if you've run out of things to say. - Benni , posted 10/07/04 |

The Albatross simply is. I hope you can go there at least once so you know what I'm talking about. For awhile I thought it was only a pub, but I recently noticed it's actually a full bar. They have popcorn for a quarter, and you can even get a pint of goldfish (the fish shaped crackers!) at the bar, these things are good. They have board games you can borrow, darts to throw (at dartboards...), and pool tables. You can also sit at one of their tables in the back, which are made from recycled ginormous rope spools. The lighting is usually dim, but in a good way. And they have great live music several times a week. - superbrenda , posted 10/07/04 |
