eclectic, awesome
there's nothing quite like these guys, who are really creative, quirky, and fun to watch. From full on hip hop dance routines to rapping over catchy synth samplings, these guys do it all. The lyrics are really funny, too. - Dave K. , posted 10/05/06

I love Tensegrity Nine!
When Formerly Bridgeway dissolved and its members headed their separate ways, certain members of the band felt like there was some unfinished creative business left to be done. Matt Payne and Peter Lim both started writing music on their own, doing their own arranging and recording. When Peter came up with the idea that the two should join to create a new group, the decision seemed obvious. They already had a repertoire (including old Bridgeway songs and some of Peter and Matt?s solo pieces), and they already had a musical bond.

Thanks to Peter?s boundless creativity and personability and Matt?s technical and musical expertise, Tensegrity Nine has quickly expanded from two ex-bandmates talking about "jamming a little" to a statewide touring band receiving expressions of interest from great local musicians such as Kid Beyond, Why? and? okay, that?s it really.

One listen to their music will show you what they?re made of? the heavy rhythmic transitions of ?Windows?, the textural bliss of ?She?s Always?, the rapid fire Japanese rapping of ?IP4: The Kamikaze Remix? and the pure jazz-hop force of "Natural Disaster" show the diversity and creativity with which these gentlemen approach their craft. Coming out to see them play will make you want more (and more).

THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME AND REALLY ENTERTAINING TO WATCH. - *sandstar* , posted 10/06/04
