BAD
The first day they never showed up. I had a one bedroom apartment that was to be moved to storage. My coach and bed never made it there....just gone - Alice , posted 04/10/05

Agree - SS is awful, never showed up!
I caution everyone to avoid this company.
Back in Boston (5 yrs ago - I'm still pissed about it), I hired them to move my 2-bedroom apt contents on a Sunday. Only no one showed up! I called every contact # I had with no success. Finally, I get a call from a guy telling me he knows no one is coming to move me and would I like to hire him and a few of his buddies (under the table)? I was so desperate, I did it - for cash. Turns out, they worked for SS. I don't know the racquet they've got going, but I sent multiple complaint letters. After a long time, I eventually got them to agree to fault. I spent weeks negotiating for a settlement and then they simply stated they weren't going to pay me a thing and I could feel free to take them to court. My tension was running so high by then, I had to drop it to avoid drawing blood from whomever was around me. They are undeserving of anyone's business! - l , posted 03/06/05

The WORST move we've ever had
They claim to be professional, fast, cheap and "The Best Move You've ever Had" but they have totally dicked us around. I have submitted more than one written complaint and although they tried to help, they are taking the word of their San Mateo branch over ours, the customer. Isn't the customer always right?

The San Mateo Branch refuses to take responsibility for anything and has actually lied and said that our complaint was untrue.

You tell me. Should it really take 9.5 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment? 25 pieces of furniture (counting chairs individually) and NO boxes.
They sent us 2 older fat guys and one had a bad back. What the fuck is that? Not professional movers, at least not in my opinion.

I have been arguing with them for almost 1 month and now I'm beyond pissed. The Director of Claims wasn?t even any help. Now I?m calling the CEO. So if you ever need to move DO NOT USE Starving Students.

Did I mention that they are trying to charge us over $900 for a move that should have cost no more than $550 or $600. AND they charged oru card WITHOUT authorization. Isn't that stealing or credit card fraud?

Thanks for reading my rant.
Pass this along, the do not deserve any more business.
