I Love This Place
The spot I head for here is the towering grove of redwood trees. Yes! Giant Sequoias in our backyard! If you're lucky, you'll also stumble across the meeting place; an enclosed area of benches with [would you believe?] a pulpit! Every once in awhile, they have a plant sale on the weekends where you can pick up some really good deals. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/13/04

Golden Gate Park's hidden treasure
Maybe it's the fence on the perimeter and the gates at the entrance, but this FREE resource is never as crowded as the rest of the park, and it holds treasure's galore. Come in for a walk through native California grasslands, fiery Mesoamerican cloud forests, and prehistoric New Zealand borders. It also houses the state's best botanical library, and some interesting educational programs. And, it's one of the last havens in the park (or the city!) for the red-legged tree frog and California quail. - Daria , posted 10/11/04
