Nice place to get lost - Kortoso , posted 08/17/06

a great place for easy to moderate hikes or trail-runs
Get there before 4 pm on weekdays if you want to find parking. After 4 pm, the park is filled with recreational runners and high school cross-country teams. Parking there on weekends is impossible, so consider yourself warned. To avoid the parking problem, bike into the park from the surrounding suburban areas.

Like Tilden Park in Berkeley, this park on the lower-peninsula has a small farm-like area, so it's a great place to take kids or anyone else who enjoys looking at ducks, pigs, herbs, and other things one might find on a farm. The farm is reached by walking about half a mile from the parking lots, along a flat, easily walked trail. It's maintained by volunteers who've posted hand-painted placards that explain the different plants and animals there. - Raj , posted 04/23/05
