I came upon nick Woolsey's video "dervishly yers" last year as I was just beginning to learn how to spin poi. I was totally energized and inspired by his ease of movement, fluid grace and skill as a poi spinner. I recently purchased the Scales of Poi dvd and am very thrilled by it. He briefly covers the basics, as well as having a physiotherapist discuss injury prevention. nick also delves into more advanced concepts and theories about perceiving and using the "scales" of poi - I found this extremely functional and familiar as I have a background in music myself. so, visit the site, and buy the dvd if you want to learn how to improve your skils in poi spinning AND be able to move gracefully about! thanks Nick! - A_delle , posted 07/03/06 |
