This shop is now Barance Motors on Treat ST. They have lied and given me the repeated run around. My car has continued to break down since they've been "fixing it." One thing breaking after another. - Dana , posted 02/13/07 |

GET IT IN WRITING!!! Better yet, do not go. They will probably resist putting it in writing and that should be a huge clue. They worked on my 450SL for a huge sum of money (then asked for more), essentially promising to restore the body, paint, suspension, brakes, cooling, exhaust and engine. Work not completed. What was completed was not all done well (the brakes and suspension work I do not fault, er, yet). Over sprayed the chrome. Didn't fix paint mars. Didn't fix lights. Exhaust smoked & installed wrong. Cooling system ran way too hot. Completely rebuilt engine had 135lb. compression within 800 miles and blew up within 1500. Novak is absolutely the most egregious and negligent automotive 'repair' shop I and others have encountered. They completely lack any standard professional cares to duty, and I am frankely on a mission to see them shut down altogether. The ASE should be notified in the near future that they constitute a grave threat to general public welfare because in part because their staff members are well below the automotive industry practice requirements. Further, the owners themselves are involved in several serious and complicated litigation issues; most notably bankruptcy and fraudelent conveyance. Had my 2004 Porsche brought intop Novak's shop for body work, and it came out looking better than when i bought it from the dealer. Spoke with Gino, great guy, nice, and gave me a nice deal. Im very happy with the results of my car. - john , posted 07/01/05 |

I honestly don't know what this miscreant of a woman is speaking about. I took my car to Novak's to get my engine re-done, and they gave me awesome service, and a great price to work with. They even worked with AAA. Prior to this incident, my car was almost totalled in the front, and they fixed it completely, re-painted the car and gave me a life time warranty for the paint. Bought a car with full service records showing all recent service was by Novak. Among other Novak related problems, we have discovered bolts not tightened or maybe never put back when Novak replaced the motor mounts. Wrong size fuel pump installed by Novak leading to car being out or gas when still a third in the tank (which is how we bought it cheap from the mystified previous owner) Novak told previous owner that running the car with less than half a tank wasn't good for it!?! Poor kid kept shelling out cash because Novak are thieves. Have another friend who still has transmission problems because Novak "fixed" her car.
