Kai Matsuda had a code of honor to fashion the streets of Berkeley with a bunch of japanese singlespeed bicycles, and he did it. He got a sweet deal in Japan and spread the love by fixing them up and selling them at really affordable prices. The bikes are indestructible. He's moved locations, but still in Berkeley. The new shop is a little more boutique-y, serving coffee while you chat about vintage cycling gear. Unfortunately, the shop opens by appointment and other random times - but it still gets 5 stars, having changed my enthusiasm for the hobby. - Eryn! , posted 10/07/04 |
