I've been to 5 different people in my years getting waxed, and Sraddha at Lucia Health & Beauty is the best of those. Skilled, friendly, and professional. She uses hard wax, expertly (i've had non-expert once before - yikes!), on the areas that are most sensitive (brazilian, underarm), which cuts down on stinging, *and* i am pretty sure i get fewer ingrown hairs with hard wax. - Juli , posted 01/02/08 |

I have been going to Lucia for over a year now, and she is absolutely the best. When getting a brazillian wax, you want to make sure you trust your estitician, and Lucia is a trained professional who knows her stuff. She's quick, thorough, and even knowledgeable about helpful products for skin care. When I was 10 a dog bit me and I lost part of my eyebrow leaving a gap on the right side. about a year ago I had Lucia tattoo my eyebrow. I was very nervous but It looks amazing! You can not tell at all that they are not natural. Just check out some of the photos of me on my tribe site. I have also been getting waxed by Lucia for a few years now and on the rare occasion that I have had to go to someone else it has always been more expensive and never nearly as good. I have gone to Lucia's for (how long? 6 years? 7?) years for leg waxing and eyelash tinting. What an affordable option. So many of my friends consistently go to Lucia's as well.  Lucia gives me the best brow waxes. Graceful arch, never too thin, always flattering. She also does good haircuts and she's very friendly. One word to describe the waxing experience? I never would have used the word 'fabulous' before I met Lucia. Many years later, between her travels and mine, I still stop in to see her for all my waxing needs. I would unhestitatingly recommend her to anyone. It is hard to find someone better than Lucia. It was about 6 years ago that I meet her and ever since then I have stayed loyal to her. I travel a lot, and from all the places and countries that I have been, I always wait to do me hair and waxing with Lucia. I have been going to Lucia for years and her waxing technique and products are SPECTACULAR!!! I have gone to a bunch of other places when she has been on vacation or away and NOBODY and I mean NOBODY does as good of a job as she does. In fact, I truly believe it is her technique because everyone she trains (her sister or Hayley) they get most if not all the hair out on the first try. I have very thick dark hair so that is truly saying something. Her Brazilians are awesome too because again of her great technique. On top of it all her practice is in the privacy of her own home and she treats her clients like friends so it is always like having a nice conversation with an old friend. Basically, Lucia is great. I have been going to Lucia for years now for waxing and hair styling, and love her! The setting of her business is very private, and she is usually able to fit me in for a same-day appointment. No doubt about it, Lucia is very good at what she does. I'm personally too chicken to get a brazilian, but her bikini waxes are awesome! She's quick, she uses quality products, she's good at her craft. At high priced salons you would not get the quality you get supporting this Berkeley local gal's business. I relocated back to the east bay 1 yr. ago and have spent that time searching for a decent wax. I had been to a handful of places (ie: azul spa--don't waste your time) and left them all the same way; having to go back home and clean up what was missed. Trial and error paid off because I found Hilarie via craiglist and am so glad I did. She was personable, thorough, professional, and reasonably priced. I left pleased with my results! I had my first Brazilian wax done with Lucia, and she was very gentle and kind, and answered all my questions and reassured me that it wouldn't kill me! I wouldn't say it was PAINLESS, but it was over with quickly and efficiently. Lucia is very nice and cheerful. I had a wax recently with Hilary, and she was amazing as well! Getting waxed by Lucia is virtually painless. Instead of a pretentious salon, you are waxed in the privacy of her home, which is clean and comfortable. The few times I thought about moving away from the Bay Area, I seriously considered how awful it would be to have to go to anyone besides Lucia, Hanh, and Hillary. I'm telling you, they are THAT good. I have been a client of Lucia's for the past eight years, and she is always extremely professional, down-to-earth, warm, sweet, funny, and cool! Lucia Lee and her partner Hilary are not only skilled aestheticians, they are warm and wonderful people! It's always a pleasure to see them! I've been having my legs waxed and my lashes tinted there for years! I love Lucia's. She is the first one who I have trusted to do a Brazilian on me. Now I live in Los Angeles and still come up monthly, for her services. Not only is the quality of her products supreme but her personable attitude toward each of her clients makes the trip up north worth the while, each and every time. She is affordable, professional, personable, and (to my delight) has recently painted her waxing room a soothing shade of purple. Lucia is so good with Brizillian waxing, she usese top quality wax, and she's so experienced. She's quick and painless. The best part is her price is so great compare to salon price. Lucia's sister Han took over when Lucia moved away and she's doing a wonderful job. It's not so much a salon as a home business, but it's clean and nice and very professional services at a significant savings compared to the salons.
