Great Pizza, Cool Staff
I've always loved Lanesplitter, but it was only recently that I moved right behind their Berkeley location (the one on the intersection of San Pablo and University).

I know my pizza pretty darn well; pizza is one of the staples of my vegetarian diet. About a week or so ago, my friend and I ordered one of their 15" pies (takeout) to satisfy some late-night munchies.

It was the first time that I noticed that Lanesplitter uses two ovens, halfway through the cooking process they take the pie from one and put it into the other. Curious, I asked the guy who was cooking our pie what the second oven was for, not really expecting him to say anything.

Boy, was I wrong. This guy launched into a whole explanation as to why they used two different ovens, the cooking process, etc. It was clear that he knew his stuff, and that he really loved working there. I was impressed.

Now I make it a point to hit up Lanesplitters whenever I get the craving for a thin-slice pie. I really appreciate the fact that their cooks know their stuff, and obviously care about their craft. I highly recommend this pizza joint. - Capitol P , posted 12/01/05

Post-gig perfection
I've been there a couple of times after playing concerts. I really like the Chicane pizza, when it's hot and fresh and the crust is crispy. I don't drink so I can't speak about the beer. For after a gig, it's great. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/24/05

I Loved the Crust
I'm a thin crust type, reminiscent of NY/NJ's best and these guys give it a good try. The flavor of the crust is hot damn as well. Great place to go for a late night bite and brew. Many good suds to choose from and this location is right off I80 on San Pablo and University, make a right and it'll be on your left. - Greg , posted 08/16/05

Pizza and Nascar. Good Combo
Lanesplitter's is located on San Pablo, just off of University in Berkeley. If you haven't been there, you've GOT to go. They have awesome wood fired pizza and a great beer selection. Check out the Heartstopper if you are carnivorous, but they've got good veg stuff too. They even have "not-a-ricotta" for the vegans. Enjoy! - Star , posted 10/07/04

Good toppings, nice atmosphere, horrible crust
Lanesplitters has a few locations around the bay. They have a combo pizza with very diverse, high quality toppings. It's a shame, because the dough in the pizza is incredibly thin and soggy. Luckily, you'll soon forget about it with the woodchuck flannel-bar atmosphere inside. - C , posted 10/06/04
