One of our best city parks - views of the Golden Gate and the Bay just the Best.
Part of the Golden Gate National Seashore, Lands End is on the west side of the Golden Gate, just east of the Presidio. Fronting on the Ocean, the views are spectacular, walking trails easy to moderate. Though if you hike down the cliffs to the water's edge, you might be easily diverted.

Take a friend out on a wam sunny afternoon picnic sitting in a small meadow overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, or go alone with a good book and hearty deli sandwich for an afternoon feeling miles from civilization. - FFinSF , posted 02/20/06

Absolutely beautiful hiking and climbing. You won't believe you're still in the City
Just north of Ocean Beach is the Land's End trails and cliffs. It is soooooo much fun to walk around there. The views are absolutely spectacular. I take my doggy there and she loves climbing around on the rocks with me. - Bob , posted 10/21/04

On a clear day, you can see forever!
Land's End is a great place to bike to. I bike through SeaCliff and then head up the hill and stop off for the view. If you keep going to the top of the hill you reach the Palace of the Leigon of Honor, another great vista point. - Priscilla , posted 10/21/04

A day hike through nature- in the city!
Land's End is awesome. It's like you're in nature, but you're still in San Francisco. You walk along a sloping and windey dirt road. Trees surround you, the pacific ocean crashing below you. It's an amazing place that you all need to check out. Experience the diversity of this amazing city! - Sean , posted 10/20/04
