Since Futura busted out with the first "Unkle" vinyl in the late 90's, this super-dope hobbiest industry has grown from prohibitively exclusive to immediately accessible high quality goods, and Kid Robot has led the way. The difference between urban vinyl and other failed collectibles is that real and important artists/cultural visionaries( the kind that are being writen into art history books ) have had been on the front line, designing these toys. This may be a rare opportunity to own genuinely rare, limited run artist-signed sculpture at an initially affordable price. I've been collecting vintage vinyl toys (Japanese monsters) since I was 7 years old, and this new wave of creative energy has me totally captivated, once again. Looking for the coolest toys on the planet? Forget all the mainstream crap at Toys-R-Us and all the others, and head over to the Haight and check out the latest in urban vinyl and other artist-driven action figures. Come in and drool at the vinyl goodness. Glass cases full of some of the coolest toys I've ever seen. They have affordable blister pack small ones (like the Jim Woodring Newts) for about 5 bucks each.
