Get'm while you can
Since Futura busted out with the first "Unkle" vinyl in the late 90's, this super-dope hobbiest industry has grown from prohibitively exclusive to immediately accessible high quality goods, and Kid Robot has led the way. The difference between urban vinyl and other failed collectibles is that real and important artists/cultural visionaries( the kind that are being writen into art history books ) have had been on the front line, designing these toys. This may be a rare opportunity to own genuinely rare, limited run artist-signed sculpture at an initially affordable price. I've been collecting vintage vinyl toys (Japanese monsters) since I was 7 years old, and this new wave of creative energy has me totally captivated, once again. Super 7 and Giant Robot are also great stores, Super 7 being my favorite of all. - , posted 12/27/06

What a great place
What kind of tweaked minds are behind these toys? Super creative stuff, great for gifts for the people that have everything or are just strange. - Jonesy , posted 01/19/06

Spend your hard-earned cash!
Kid Robot is a must when I'm on Haight st. These toys are rad, and a few of them like the stikfas are actually not so expensive. - Doom , posted 11/16/05

Best place to spend money on useless sh*t
I know some (alot?) of people that are into "urban vinyl adult collectables" might disagree with my pick, but I love this place even thought it might be the 'sell-out' shop, or whatever.

Nothing against Giant Robot, or Boss Robot! - J.B. , posted 06/24/05

It's all about the Dunny's
Looking for the coolest toys on the planet? Forget all the mainstream crap at Toys-R-Us and all the others, and head over to the Haight and check out the latest in urban vinyl and other artist-driven action figures. At any given time there's usually a dozen folk inside, but squeeze your way way in and have a look around. - Clee , posted 10/19/04

I love this store. It's quite a cute anime place to check out in the Haight. Dark humorous creatures and robots to check out and see. - pengrin™ , posted 10/17/04

Toys for Stoners, Skaters, Artists, oh and kids...
Come in and drool at the vinyl goodness.
Glass cases full of some of the coolest toys I've ever seen.
They have affordable blister pack small ones (like the Jim Woodring Newts) for about 5 bucks each.
If I win the lotto any time soon, you can bet your sweet ass I'll be comming here with a fistfull of benjamins. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/16/04
