There are many, many books that I distinctly recall enjoying during my formative years, some that I read so many times that their covers became tattered, their pages distinctly well-loved. And as much as I still adore "Little Women" and "The Chronicles of Narnia" and will continue to reread them, I've compiled a list here of what I believe are the eight most beautiful, most brilliant of all the children's novels I have so enjoyed over the years. Stories that continue to move me every single time I read them, to amaze me with such seemingly effortless and yet immensely satisfying literary style.
