KB believes in his music, and is his music. You don't find talent like this very often... - Andi , posted 09/25/06 |

The first time I met Kid he offered me a ride to his next show. The first show I saw that night showcased his good beatboxing skills. I was unprepared for his real performance. His rendition of Portishead's Wandering Star, and his own creation (name unknown) of the old soldier on the road are absolutely beautiful. - Unsubscribed , posted 07/18/05 |

I've had the honor of working along side Kid Beyond and sharing a stage with him. weather you like beat boxing or not, his talents are most impressive. I'm actually more impressed with his voice acting work. The man is very talented. - Ryoga , posted 07/11/05 |

Hi songs and arrangements are great even if they weren't made entirely by his voice! Check him out! - blue-j , posted 06/20/05 |

The human beat box thing is so old, but can still be kinda cool. 15 minutes worth is entertaining before I find myself yearning for a DJ to spin. Not KB's fault, I'm just not a fan of the genre. - Leg of Eel , posted 02/03/05 |

I saw Kid Beyond open for LOOP!STATION recently at 111 Minna, and although the acoustics in that space kind of blow for live music, his performance was outstanding. Beatboxing taken who a whole 'nother, jaw-dropping level, cleverly manipulating loops and effects, this guy is un-freaking-believable. - Rick , posted 01/06/05 |

Kid Beyond blows my mind again and again and again. His beatboxing skills are incredible, sending your mind into a whir while you try to fathom his amazing talent, and then the starts looping and you forget to breathe! He'll be in the Bright River in December and January, you've got to go check him out! - Jenni , posted 11/18/04 |

Kid Beyond will blow your mind. The first time you hear him, you’ll be stunned at the sounds and the rhythms that come out of his mouth and that amazement never wears off. No matter how many times you see him perform, he’ll always leave you thirsty for more. For an extra special treat, check him out in Tim Barsky's, “The Bright River”. - Gadget , posted 11/16/04 |

He is one of the best beat-boxers I have ever heard. The fact that he can do hip hop, drum 'n bass, Nine Inch Nails and Portishead makes him the most unique one. You have got to check him out, it will expand your definition of what's possible to do with the voice as an instrument. - Bill , posted 11/16/04 |

Wow! More than beat boxing - it's insane. His live looping is like nothing you've seen/heard before. Records a track of himself live onstage and then layers another track over, and over and over. Mind-blowing. See him and you'll understand. - susan , posted 10/17/04 |

2004: year of the human beatbox. when's the last time you heard wicky-wicky-wicky on a verbal scratch turntable? i swear i was at a rave at burning man lush lounge and there he was mouthing out the beats. kid beyond emits sick vowel movements and you swear he forgets to breathe. he performs often, check his website for details. he even teaches human beatbox classes in berkeley! - sandwich , posted 10/16/04 |

If you haven't seen Kid Beyond perform yet, you need to get out more often. I swear, every time I go somewhere, this guy is hitting the mic. Fortunately, he's talented as hell, so I can't complain. For the uninitiated: Kid Beyond is an extraordinary beatboxer and vocalist. He performs live looping tracks to create full songs--covers and originals. His skills (or should I say skillz?) are undeniable, and he seems to be one of those people who truly love what they do--which explains why he's always performing, everywhere I go. Honestly, I went to take my dog to the park the other day, and guess who was on stage at Civic Center? Yup. Anyway, in case you're a hermit, walk outside your cave right now, and you should be able to catch Kid Beyond doing his thing at the laundromat across the street. It'll be worth it, even if you never get that Wandering Star song out of your head. - Adam , posted 10/15/04 |
