Always a good time when JJB is in the house!
Whether it's at Grant&Green, a friends house party or down on Fillmore street, I always find my ass shaking and my body grooving when these boys are playing! - Rebecca , posted 09/07/05

Actually, we like them so much we paid them a boatload of money to play at our wedding
They weren't crazy about it, but they did it for us.

My wife's parents are from Turkey. The next morning when we met for breakfast, the first words of of her father's mouth was "Where did you get that band!" They didn't seem to be bothered by all the marijuana references. - Unsubscribed , posted 07/29/05

If you like music that forces you to shake your ass...
...see this band! The only negative comment I've ever heard/read about these guys is in the one review above. I've never been to a show where everyone isn't completely hyped throughout, and raving about it after. The sax sounded pretty damn nice last time I checked! My only regret about being a big fan of this band, is that I don't get to see many shows anymore. - Mike , posted 05/25/05

A great party band
I have been a fan and a follower since their first gigs at Storyville, and have been happy at thier progression, but dissappointed at their progress. I can understand how it is hard for them to get a following, but feel they a more than deserving to have a huge fan base. Jethro is an amazing talent, which is undeniable, the rest of the band has gone through some personel changes, and now has found their groove. I would like the players to go off more when given a chance. The sax, like horns in general, absolutely belong in the world of reggae. If you come to a show look for the dude puffing out, ask if he's Shaggy, and if it is, it is me. - J.T. , posted 02/19/05

great roots reggae
I guess the previous reviewer hasn't heard much reggae, or they'd know that horns and saxes are an integral part of many bands. I thought these guys put on a great show, with a good roots vibe. They played a solid set of original, danceable tunes, and finished out the night with a great cover of "Avenues". Check these guys out. - aaron , posted 12/22/04

Strong Frontman - Sax is Outdated
Jethro (the frontman) has universal appeal. I can see him achieving artistic and commercial success on a wide scale. His energy seems to get picked up by his audience. This presence of his and his vocals are a great introduction to reggae for the uninitiated to the more hardcore in the genre. Jethro has talent and looks and performs authentically cool.

However, with this being said, Jethro should strongly consider, (what I think is the strongest improvement that could be made in moving towards this type of success) updating the band's sound by completely eliminating the Huey Lewish-ish, Men At Work-ish, Kenny G-esque saxophone stylings. With this one element remaining, the band and unfortunately Mr. Jeremiah is condemned to playing inconsequential shows at mediocre venues to appreciative fans. I would follow the advice of one of the prior posts here. Seriously consider that it's not "the band" that might be holding Jethro back, but specifically the sax element. I haven't quite put my finger on it, but it's possible that the sax playing isn't quite up to par with the rest of the band and everyone's being thrown off. Listen to this feedback and roll on success Jethro. - Campton , posted 12/18/04

he rocks and is a true sweetheart
I love his voice, and his messages are strong. Been watching him around sf since the 90's and he deserves a break. You will have a great time if you go check out one of his shows.

Great reggae singer
Jethro Jeremiah would be a star if he could just find the band to back him up. He's great with an alright band, but he's the voice that powers the group... great local reggae band, regardless. Check 'em out if possible. - olivia , posted 10/21/04
