Quite good, but needs improvement
Get rid of the carpet. Do something with the industrial ceiling. Re-evaluate the menu and get rid of the stinkers, because there are a few misses on there. Other than that, c'est magnifique! - , posted 05/07/07

crappy service
I've been to Greens before, and had good experiences but those were a few years ago.
This weekend I went for my wedding anniversay and they pretty much ruined it. We had a reservation, were promptly seated, and ordered pretty quickly. After that everything went down hill. We let our server know that we had a show to catch in 1 1/2 hours. Yet, 1 hours and 15 minutes later we still had no food. Meanwhile a table of SIX people were seated after we had ordered and they not only got their appetizers before us but were well into their meal. We told the server that there was no way we could wait any longer and we had to leave. They didn't charge us for the appetizers which were not inspiring at all, but they were going to charge us for the 2 glasses of wine we had ordered for our dinner. So, basically we had to chug our wine, and dash. No apology from the manager, the server blamed it all on the kitchen. You would think with a prefix menu (which was a surprise to me) that things would come along a little quicker. We ended up getting to our show late, had to stand in the back and suffer through the performance with growling bellies. When we got out of the ballet, then there weren't any "special" places to have a meal. I would not recommend going there. - *Ruby* , posted 05/07/07

i can't speak to the food, but the service was terrible
perhaps it's improved in recent years, but the only time i went to greens i was on my way to a show and i needed food. it sounded good so i went there. i stood in the lobby and was ignored for while- like 15 minutes of being totally unaknowledged despite my trying to be seated, then i was ignored after i sat down, ignored, ignored ignored. is a person eating alone a crime?

i haven't stepped foot in there since and won't. - Mary , posted 03/27/06

Great Veggie Food
The bread was great, which is always a good sign. I had the mushroom ravioli, which was delicious although the sauce was a bit watery for my taste. My friend had the Greek pizza which was also yummy. Definitely the perfect spot for a vegetarian birthday dinner! Make sure you get a seat near the window so you can gaze out at the water--the view makes the rather steep prices a little easier to swallow. - Ruthy , posted 03/24/06

One of the best meals I have had
Only been there once, but it was amazing food. I'm vegan but my father isn't and he loved it as well. Fresh, great flavor. On the expensive side, but worth it for a nice meal. - Kristy , posted 01/19/06

still feel burned
I haven't gone back since the time I made reservations, showed up, started in on the water and bread, and THEN the waiter announced that the menu was prix fixe that night and was WAY more than I wanted to spend. A slimey way to do business I thought. I'm still holding a grudge over that. Great views... But I far prefer Millenium's food if I'm going to spend the bucks on a nice vegan meal. - dc , posted 02/14/05

Good food
Not everything I tasted there was great, but some dishes were excellent. Like their asparagus/leak quiche. - mad , posted 01/25/05

Great date restaurant
Greens is a great place to take a girl (or guys) in San Francisco. At one time it was one of the hottest restaurants in the world. With a waiting list of months to get a table. Now things have calmed down but you definately want to call a few days head to secure a table. The food is somewhat expensive but excellent. Even meat eaters will enjoy the food. The view is one of the best in the city. - Jon , posted 10/16/04

Delicious!
I only ate here once (I could only afford to once--haha!), but the service, atmosphere and food were all very classy. Did I mention delicious? - MariNaomi , posted 10/15/04

Great Vegetarian Restautant
Great food, great view, great service. Food is hearty, so you don't really miss the meat. Can request vegan on lots of items, too. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/15/04

Great views, Great Veggie food
Greens has an awesome view. Try to make it there at sunset to watch the sun drop behind the Golden Gate View. The food is vegetarian and yummy. Try the desserts, they're to die for. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/15/04

Exc ellent Vegetarian Restaurant
Great Vegetarian restaurant with nice setting. It's the kind of place that you can take a meat eating friend and they won't even notice (most of the time) that there is no meat on the menu.

Also, great brunch place on Sunday. - Ross , posted 10/12/04
