MMMMMmmmm
Try samples and ask for recommendations because its not all as good as their best flavors. But theres nothing better than their best flavors. Hopefully theyll have ginger soon. That stuff is like taking drugs. - Liz , posted 10/05/05

OMG, it is heaven!!
This place is friggin unbelievable. They have an AMAZING vegan selection, too! They take the weirdest things and make them super yummy frozen treats. Actually, one of my favorite flavors there is wheat bran; it takes just like cookie dough ice cream. yum!! It is just too bad that I can't afford to get a gelato there every day! - onlineDeAnna , posted 05/01/05

Not quite Italy, but darn close!
Dessert took a turn for the better in downtown Berkeley when this place opened up (as Mondo Gelato) a few years ago. The gelato is authentic enough to remind me of Italy, through regretably they don't offer many fruit flavors as gelato the way you'd get in the Old Country. Nonetheless, the stuff is creamy, light, and delicious and the flavors they do have are diverse enough to satisfy almost anyone. - Philip , posted 02/20/05

Best gelato EVER!
This place is amazing. It's ALWAYS packed (unless it happens to be a weekday when no students are in town), and they have an amazing selection of flavors. Plus, they let you taste everything before making a selection!

A word of warning about the flavors, though: some mixes yield strange results. One night, I bought juicy pear and caramel. My server placed them side by side in the cup. I happened to get both flavors on the spoon and the taste turned into banana! This was kind of fun, and when I mentioned this to the counterstaff, they suggested that you might not want to get black sesame and cinnamon together, for that combination yields hot dog flavored gelato. I, of course, had to try it. It's more like a sweet, sugar-coated hot dog, but close enough! - , posted 10/06/04
