worth the 2000+ mile trip
I have had 3 sittings with Shadow @ Gotham, and I plan to go back. He's been great and has always worked hard to accommodate me when I'm in town. - Tony , posted 12/28/07

Disappointed, to say the least.
I could have gotten a better tattoo if I had let my Ferret have at my leg with an exacto blade and some india ink! Seriously, I let myself be bullied into a tattoo that wasn't exactly what I wanted, ended up costing more that the estimated price and came out looking like complete crap. I'm embarassed to wear shorts! I take responsibility for allowing it to happen to me, and I'm dealing with it. But, if you're reading this, consider yourself warned! - Tori , posted 04/25/07

Amazing cover-ups, Amazing Tattoos
Gauge has retouched and reworked a couple of my tattoos flawlessly, and stylistically integrated them into a consistent ink style at my request. The solo work Gauge has done for me has been excellent as well. Gauge has the ability to produce high-quality work in a time-efficient and even-handed manner. Shadow is a great tattooist in his own right--the work I've seen is fantastic. - Carey , posted 01/01/07

simple but great
I had a pair of hearts put on my ankle about 3 years ago by Gauge and yesterday Shadow added my daughter's name underneath them. They are both simple tattoos but they are done perfectly and I love them - Shelli , posted 08/21/06

Shadow is the best
I finally decided to get my first tattoo when I was inspired by some art done by my friend Scott. I gave it to Shadow, who made a graphic design a workable tattoo and it turned out amazing. I will go back to him every time. - Liz , posted 07/18/06

Gauge kicks ASS
he did the most amazing tattoo on my back~i came into the store with a bunch of downloads and a very hazy idea of how to synthesize them. he totally brought it to life, sketched it out, and the work is absolutely gorgeous...and it healed incredibly well, no issues at all. i <3 gauge. - Unsubscribed , posted 02/13/05

Best Tattoos in San Francisco
Gauge is an excellent artist and is enthisiastic about his work. I brought my own pictures to him and they turned out far better than I could have expected. (spiderman/Captain America). - Jerry , posted 01/30/05

Yes on Gauge, and shadows hot too..
oh you mean inkwise...yes! Gauge is an artist and a great tattooist....you can come with your own general idea, or something specific, he'll draft it up, make ya wince, and you'll be happy. - Nerd , posted 11/17/04

Technically amazing, and artisitically gifted..
I think both Gauge and Shadow are amazing. Shadow is an aprentice, so his rates are a bit cheaper than Gauge. Both are not just technically proficient but also amazing artists. Having spent more than 10 hours under the needle with them, I haven't bled or even scabbed once.. Just the normal flaking of skin, but no scabs. I think this is proof of skill and talent. The art on my back is designed by Gauge after some comments from me - Unsubscribed , posted 08/20/04
