Best brunch in the city
I don't know why people still go to overrated crappy brunch places like Boogaloo's when you can get an amazing Cajun style brunch at the Elite cafe. My favorite is the Alabama Scramble -- fluffy scrambled eggs, and huge tender biscuits smothered in some kind of spicy tangy cajun sauce, along with plenty of good smoked bacon. It's the perfect thing after a light night on the town. Also make sure to try the French Toast, it's the best I've had in the city too.

The OJ is fresh-squeezed, the coffee is strong, and the decor will take you back to the 30s with it's beautiful wood-paneled booths and art-deco lighting fixtures. Highly recommended! - Victor , posted 05/24/05

Excellent Cajun-inspired food presented with class
Opened in 1981, but with the look and feel of an earlier time. Upscale yet homey food, fine martinis, and I guess some people go there for the oysters, too. - Unsubscribed , posted 12/13/04
