Yes this is the loveliest park. Use to be Ohlone territory, and Mission Dolores is nearby. Great views. - Unsubscribed , posted 09/16/06 |

the view from the upper corner at 20th ad Church (by the J-Church MUNI stop has been mentioned; it's one of the Great Views of the city. "Dolores Beach" is also one of the best places in town to watch the 4th-of-July fireworks; you can see those from Aquatic Park down by Hyde Street, the 39th Street Pier, most of the Jack London Square ones, and all the little whiz-bang sparklies the locals set off down by the swingsets. Bring your sparklers but that night, leave your pup to home safe and quiet. - Ruth , posted 09/30/05 |

I call this place GTM (Gay Tanning Mecca) because that's exactly what it is! There's always tons of sun and grass, it's a great place to tan and have picnics, it has an excellent view of Downtown, and at the end of the day you can watch the fog roll in over the hill (the fog that the rest of the suckers in the city had to deal with! Hehe). - Mei , posted 09/08/05 |

and you can possibly get a tan here too. - Smuggler , posted 10/21/04 |

Check out the view from the top of Dolores Park, you can see the Bay Bridge and the downtown. Its especially nice at sunset. A good place to sit on a bench and reflect. - maria , posted 10/18/04 |

This park is huge. Not Golden Gate Park huge, but huge by small park standards. Tons of people sun bathing and walking dogs, Tennis courts and lots of people playing frisbee. Walk up the hill on the side closest to 20th street and treat yourself to one of the best views of downtown SF. - ColonelTCB , posted 10/15/04 |

This is the park to end all parks. I love them for continually entertaining me with free movies like Harold & Maude, free bands like Fugazi, the speedo tanning gay boys and bikini girls. Dogs, tennis, futbol and frisbees. - Jess , posted 10/15/04 |

Nothing beats laying out in the sun, reading the news paper, eating a coconut popsicle and swinging on swings! - alix , posted 10/15/04 |

Dusk is the best at this park when all the dog owners have their dogs scampering about. But hot days on the "beach" (the upper terrace) are nice too. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/15/04 |
