Picnics, yoga pad, hipsters rolling down hills...
The best park in the city. The scene is amazing. Everyone is chill...I mean, you do get your drunks with their pants down every once and a while...but that IS the charm of the mission life...Dolores is the oldest part of the city and there is the beautiful Mission High School and huge palm trees that remind me that I actually DO live in California...not some strangely European city of fog. Go to Bi-Rite and pick up some kombucha, fresh fruit, a loaf of bread, and some mexican rice with tofu and head across the street for a scoop of soy strawberry icecream. yum. I love that everyone has their racer bikes sprawled all over the grass, big Mexican blankets, and boom boxes (yes...it feels like the early 90's in a kind of 'I'm a cool Mission rat wearing leggings and drinking foreign beer in a paper bag' way). The sloped hills are wonderful for rolling down and the large flat area is fun for gymnastics, yoga, partner yoga, frisbee, throwing a football, etc...OH YEAH! I LOVE all the dogs there! When it is sunny out, you will always find me gazing into the beautiful view of downtown SF...drifting into the land of thinkers and dreamers with a favorite Alice Walker words fumbled around my head. - Emma , posted 04/03/07
