"Ghetto Gourmet." ....Growing up in the heart of downtown San Jose, this little place became a favorite haunt of mine as a young kid. Their .99 cent chicken sandwiches were a staple in my diet. The price has gone up, but still a major bargain at under 2 bucks. They have many, many dishes to serve up, and about as many desserts, all delish. Two points deducted for having an unclean restroom at times, being nextdoor to a dive Viet poolhall, and tight parking. They also serve some of the best Vietnamese Ice coffee with tapioca pearls in town! All things considered, this is definitely one of my favorite joints in town.
