HELL yeah
Just called Cliff's in search of a white tutu and after checking the backstock for me while I waited (incredible! service over the phone?! who knew?!) they directed me to an employee who would know where I could get one.
Nice!
Now THAT'S a San Francisco hardware store! - Exelicious , posted 12/30/06

Hardware Speaking
Cliff's has all kinds'a cool stuff AND their selection of hardware remains first rate. All you two wheelers take note; they have metric and standard hardware galore. I've rebuilt two motorbikes using their grade 8 metric fasteners... Plus doesn't it feel nice to give your money to a truly local business? - tony , posted 01/13/05

Cliff's Hardware - not just hardware
Cliff's is the coolest hardware store in the city. Hardware is somewhat misleading -- sure, they have nails and paint, but they also have toys, crayons, pepper grinders, holiday crap, and feather boas. The salespeople at Cliff's are the nicest and most knowledgable anywhere (especially compared to the Colma Home Depot, where a worker once grunted at me). Shop at Cliff's!! - Jennifer , posted 10/18/04

For the Hardware Store that has everything...
Cliff's is a Castro and San Francisco institution. A family-owned variety store where you can find everything from a tiara to a box of nails. The employees have extensive product knowledge and the service is amazing. It must be seen to be understood - Stephen C. , posted 10/16/04

Cliff's is the best hardware/costume store ever
Where else can you get the best costume accessories (wigs, tiara's boa's, etc), AND household handy supplies... Cliff's is awesome. The staff is super friendly, and they have what you're looking for. And their toy section is really cool too. - Marni , posted 10/15/04
