Excellent Sushi-South American Fusion
Considering the abundance of fine Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area it’s hard to make a case for traveling any distance to seek one out – just go around the block! However, in recent months I been dating a young lady in Burlingame, a city just north of the San Mateo bridge and just south of the SF airport, that I had never spent any time in before. One evening I was in the mood for sushi and she suggested the Barracuda. I was delightfully impressed. Visiting their website (www.barracudasushi.com) will give you idea of the elegant vibe. The food is very fresh, presented beautifully and incorporated a playful mix of Japanese and South American cuisine. The last evening we were there a live jazz combo played in the background. We enjoyed everything from the sake flights and gyoza to the Lover’s Cove roll and mixed seafood grill. Like many Japanese restaurants, the selection can be overwhelming – in spite of the price, you’ll want to return. For me, it was magic.
