A Tragedy
Not sure when the previous reviewer ate there, but I had a completely different experience. Terribly slow service. The table near us was overheard considering just walking out. Our server had some sort of rash and seemed rather uncomfortable with the dynamics of hosting.
As for the food, I also had the short ribs and found them to be inedible. Undercooked and obviously simply thrown together in the kitchen by an overwhelmed chef. Excellent pan sauce, though. My partner enjoyed the Bing cherry chocolate cake, but was put off enough by the service and main course, to resolve to never visit this travesty again. - onlineTimmyTim , posted 11/15/06

Finally a great restaurant in pacifica!
Sure there are some casual spots to grab a quick bite that are pretty good, but Pacifica is a wasteland if you’re looking for a decent restaurant that is date-worthy and offers really good food. Not any more.

Barolo Restaurant is a little gem of a restaurant tucked into the Pedro Point area. The atmosphere is very nice, even cozy. The food is awesome. We shared the fried calamari with onions, fennel and marinara, the butternut squash ravioli with sage, cream, toasted hazelnuts and truffle oil, and the beef short ribs with carrot puree, brussel sprouts and a pan sauce. The food was prepared beautifully, presentation was gorgeous and everything was delicious. Finished off the meal with espresso but if we had a little more room the warm chocolate cake with whipped crème fraiche and a port wine Bing cherry sauce was totally calling my name. I’ll definitely be back again soon! - Unsubscribed , posted 11/15/06
