Barbara Elliott is a photographer based out of Santa Rosa who specializes in film photography and hand processing such as polaroid transfers. Barbara has a large body of work in a range of styles with an emphasis on female body image as seen through mannequins and dolls. Often, the focus is in extreme close up to enhance texture both of subject matter and the hand processed photo medium. Her work is often soft and leaning toward a certain mystery and veiled atmosphere tinged with humor and absurdity. Yet, Barbara is an active and enthusiastic photographer and experimenter. Her work is often shifting to different subjects and forms through constant exploration of the photo medium. Barbara shares a studio space on A Street near downtown Santa Rosa, where many works both framed and unframed may be perused for purchase by appointment.
