Saying "Nothing to fix" is not always a sign of pure honesty.
I brought my 2000 Honda Prelude to Art's because of all the rave reviews. There was an audible clacking sound coming from what I though was the top end. I brought it in expecting to be told what was wrong and get a quote. Two very friendly mechanics took a look, listened, listend some more, then came to the conclusion that the car did not need any work, even after I told them the sound had gotten louder in the past few months.
Exactly 2 week later I spun a rod and now I need a new bottom end. Cost will be at least $3000. I am certain that if the friendly folks at Art's had taken the time to take it in and investigate, they would have found the source of the noise and been able to make a much less costly pre-emptive repair.
Now I know they were trying to be honest and helpful, and that sure beats all the scam artists out there who would sell you a new engine even if it did not need one, but a mistake like this one cost me, and I will not be taking my car to them again for fear that they simply are not thorough enough.
