The San Francisco Bay Area has a number of outstanding kumu hula (hula teachers) and halau (schools and perormance troops). But Kumu Hula Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu is a stand out guy even in this community of exceptionally talented people. He and his dancers recently performed at the San Francisco Aloha Festival (August) and it was the most joyful, mana-filled, collaboration I have ever witnessed. Promising to be a visual and aural feast, this award-winning team of dancers will perform Ho`omalu's latest works while accompanied by his signature style of chanting and mesmerizing native percussion.
