Give yourself the best service you've ever had
Unplug/turn off the phone(s), lock the doors.
Put soft, soothing music on the stereo - pleasant volume, no beats.
Begin running hot water (whatever is perfect for you) into your sparkling clean tub. While the tub is filling, light several scented candles and place them in various corners of the bathroom. Have a warm towel, slippers and bathrobe nearby. Turn out all the lights.
Lie on your bed and breathe deeply for 3 minutes. Pay no attention to anything but your breath passing in and out of your nose - quietly, effortlessly. After that, run an ostrich feather slowly up and down your bare skin, all over. Pay attention to and admire all of the parts of your body that you love. Pick a favorite. Notice everything about it. Rejoice that you are alive and well. Read a favorite poem to yourself.
Drop some scented things into the now nearly full tub. Flower petals, bath bombs (if you haven't tried this, get thee to Lush.com or the store in SF), bath gel, bubble bath, whatever...make it smell wonderful and be good for your skin. Slowly slide into the bath, rest your head on a rolled up towel or bath pillow, and let yourself completely sink into your body. Clear your head in whatever way works for you (breathe...). Feel every sensation and create some of your own (ahem). Do this until the water starts to get too cool and/or you fall asleep. Voila!
Rinse and repeat at least once a week. Try it with a partner sometime for variation/added fun!
