NORMAN BURG, DDS, KICKS ASS
NORMAN BURG, DDS, KICKS ASS.

Located in a little house with a beautiful garden in a residential neighborhood in Rock Ridge, it feels more like you're dropping by a massage studio rather than a dentist's.

The receptionist is a real sweetie, the dentist is respectful, professional, and friendly, his office staff is warm, kind, and genuinely wants to get to know you. His style appeals to me, since I'm a geek [he's direct and happy to educate you about your dental situation in as much technical detail as you desire], and a raver [he's nonjudgmental and understanding about high-risk lifestyle choices and the dental effects thereof]. I hadn't been to a dentist in six years, and had a lot of trepidation; I figured I was in for a lot of 'oh, you've been naughty about flossing', but the vibe I got from the staff was entirely positive -- no lectures, just straight-up "Let's see how much good we can do you from here on out". He caters to wimps: I mentioned my anxiety about dentistry, and he took that into account and put me at ease. They billed my insurance for me, and preventative care is [at least in my case] covered at 100%. It was the first time I've ever left a dentist's office feeling good about the experience and actually *looking forward* to the next visit.

If you don't have a dentist, but you do have dental insurance, there's no reason not to call and make an appointment.
And if you do call, please let them know that Benjamin sent you their way :) - Benjamin , posted 05/30/07
