Food is OK, but the place is smoky and noisy. I prefer Tasty Curry nearby - D , posted 01/10/09 |

I've never liked Indian food until I ate here. The one on O'Farrel is the nicest one I have been to... - Matt , posted 10/05/06 |

the one time I ordered lamb there it was very tough. I doubt I'll ever go there again. Great India on geary it good, tho, and I love the Indian pizza from the place at Irving and 45th! - *Ali Baba* Alexandra , posted 02/08/06 |

Yeah, great for INDIAN FAST FOOD. Mc Donalds shit. Let's order overly-crispy & burnt naan bread as well as chicken tandoori. Only for those who lack taste. - Alexandra , posted 11/21/05 |

This place remains good but it has gone down hill (eg, doughy naan and pools of grease on the Tikka-Masala) - dabin , posted 11/11/05 |

i've tasted better outside the area (south bay & in england), but so far this place gets my vote compared to some other places. hm,i wonder if they have korma - hey, you! , posted 10/14/05 |

...not enough meat! Not a good value for your money type of a place. - Haleh , posted 08/04/05 |

The food is mediocre AT BEST...and the service is terrible. If you want to be ignored, get the wrong food and have indigistion...go here!@ - Brooklyn , posted 06/17/05 |

Greasy inside - poor service. The staff sit around and talk. Tables are dirty. Food was "ok", but frankly, that place grossed me out. *shudder* - Shannon! , posted 06/03/05 |

The food is great and very reasonably priced!!! They just get a little busy and mess-up orders from time to time. - T.D. Camp , posted 06/03/05 |

Yucky. Nasty. Lower G.I. distress inducing sub-standard gruel. - Bobby H. , posted 05/30/05 |

I love the other Naan & Currys. I went to this one and ordered vegetarian food. What showed up was lamb ,which unsuspecting me , didnt know. I dont eat lamb as its against my morals and virtue. I almost threw up. I wouldnt go back because the counter guy got pissed that i complained, and he didnt even say sorry. - Unsubscribed , posted 03/21/05 |

One of the better indian restaurants in the area, this one and it's sister restaurant in the Financial District always draw quite a crowd. The dishes are rich and flavorful; my favorite is the chicken tikka masala (mmm... my mouth is watering just thinking about it right now). While the wait can be long, it's certainly worth it. Just don't plan on going out afterwards unless you have a change of clothes, 'cuz you'll be stinking of the restaurant's rich spices & curry afterwards. - Mike , posted 10/19/04 |

Low key decor and atmosphere, but the service is fast and the food is GOOD. Usually packed on weekends, but the wait isn't too long usually. Regardless, I have to say I think they have the best curries/sauces around. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/19/04 |

The chicken tikka masala and naan are scrumptious. Not always the cleanest place, but I can overlook it. - David , posted 10/17/04 |

Shalimar, Darbar, and Tasty Curry (especially) all kick Naan & Curry's butt. Small portions and generally uncleanliness turn me off. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/16/04 |

I never get tired of this place! Okay, so you order up front and they bring it to you, and there's no alcohol, but trust me, you won't miss it... grab your own pitcher of water, order some naan, and your favorite dish, and you won't spend much more than you would at a fast food restaurant... really! - Char , posted 10/16/04 |

It was one of those MSG headaches. And I NEVER get headaches. I haven't got a clue if they put MSG in the food there. I think there are lots of equally cheap and consistently good places to eat, especially in Inner Sunset. Headaches suck! - Tracy , posted 07/13/04 |

$4.95 for amazing chicken curry -- moist, tender, spicy but not overpowering... and the naan is perfect. The bengan bharta rocks too. The lunch specials are great value because you get naan, rice and daal in addition to the main dish for around $6. Oh and did I mention that the chai is free? - Victor , posted 07/09/04 |

I've eaten at the North Beach location tons of times, as I used to work around the corner from there. Still of the opinion that Naan & Curry is the best eats in north beach. All that Italian stuff is vasty overrated. However, things vary from location to location. I've had drinks at the Berkeley Naan & Curry that tasted very strongly of soap, after a very long wait and a struggle to find a table. - kris , posted 07/08/04 |
