Quesadia Suiza Hummmm
The best...a favorite, especially at 2:30AM after the bar...Just be careful not to go there pissed off, the small space and alcohol seems to be a supper accelerate for fist fights. - Elissa , posted 12/15/08

Good Mexican
I go to their restaurant in South SF on El Camino. Clean, nice - tasty burritos with good carnitas, beans. Nothing overwhelming to the taste buds however. - Dan , posted 08/02/06

Best $5 I ever spent
Found by accident in the pouring rain a long line snakes it's way throgh the tiny door of El Farolito. The smells beconing my interest. I decide to wait, about ten minutes in line, I'm drenched. I order one of my simple favorites super burrito al pastor with refried bean. MMM...Grab some salsa verde and find a table so that I can dry off. Shortly after I am presented with an enormous girth of a burrito with the outside slightly crispy from toasting on the grill. Topping it all was the fresh! crema mexicana, Aye! - Unsubscribed , posted 12/18/05

so good!
yes it's divey, but it's the best, hands down. Super quesadilla suiza with black beans and a little bit of rice, half for here and half to go. *Mwaa. All the guys who work here are so great, and efficient. tip them well! they deserve it. - Mary , posted 11/20/05

awwwwwwwwwwesome!!
i discovered this place in '94 when i first moved to california. the super quesadilla suiza con carne asada is the best. if you dont want a complete gut bomb, ask for it with no cream and go easy on the queso. - zain , posted 10/08/05

Yum
I went here late nite and was blown away by how good the food was. The line was a bit long though and there were some crackheads harassing people and trying to steal the tip jar. - Liz , posted 10/05/05

At 2 in the morning, little tastes better...
I have kind of made a personal, solemn pledge not to go to El Farolito before midnight. The veggie tacos, around 2 am, are really quite delectable. I've never been a fan of their burritos, however. Just the veggie tacos and aguas frescas. The ambience is classic. - oudplayer , posted 08/20/05

Great stuff
Lunchtime is the best. The quality is still good at late night, BUT go during normal hours for the best service!

I love this place
Every now and then Bobzilla brings a burrito home from El Farolito and leaves it on kitchen counter. As soon as he turns his back, it's mine. Yum. - Shomer , posted 07/02/05

I've never eaten here at a decent hour
Everytime I've eaten here it's been around 3am or something so it's highly likely that I was either intoxicated or famished or both. So perhaps my rating is skewed by altered states. But the food was great when I ate it. - Dave , posted 06/12/05

it was really good a few years ago. i went there lately and my burrito wasn't that great. the salsa didn't taste that great. i think El Toro makes the best burritos. - julia , posted 02/20/05

Ghetto Burrito but it's open really really late.
What can I say. When you're drunk and need some food anything that's open will do. This place doesn't have the best burritos in town but almost anything will do. This joint is right next to the 24th Street BART station has a line out the door at 3am. If a little grissle doesn't worry you it's all good. - Pete , posted 01/26/05

Great food, fast service! :)
I can always depend on El Farolito for some yummy Al Pastor tacos and burritos, even late at night. Their melon agua frescas rock as well. Full bar and pool tables right next door too! :) - Justin , posted 11/11/04

It's El FarOlito and it's the best goddamn burrito in the city
'Nuf said. I lived on these burritos when I first moved to SF and was broke. They are so big they can last for 2 meals. All for under $5 (last I checked). - Unsubscribed , posted 11/05/04

isn't it El Farolito?
Isn't the name of this place El Farolito? I found out about this place from my girlfriend, who is a longtime devotee of their pork tacos. This place is fast, open late, and you can get eight delicious, freshly made pork tacos for sixteen bucks. That's all we ever eat. The neighborhood has its fair share of homeless drunks and just plain drunks, so park close if you can and keep aware of your surroundings. Nothing good happens when it comes to surprises happening at 3am on a Saturday night when getting late night pork tacos. - Dave K. , posted 10/28/04

if you like down n dirty keepin it real taquerias you will dig farlitos. its a bit greasy and always heavy on the rice. they also use the same spoons in the meat as in the rice n beans for all you vegetarians... - elle rockitscience , posted 10/19/04

Never be disappointed with this meal log!
Everyone has their favourite burrito place and mind is El Farolito, it's on Mission just beside the 24th BART station on the NE corner.

It's open super late. The veggie super burrito is amazing as well as the quesadillas. Lots of fresh avacado and the best hochata on the block. It's open super late and you can even put on Hotel California on the jukebox. - *serious* , posted 10/19/04

Get the Nachos
My favorite is the Regular Nachos. It is a huge portion, great value, and great flavors. They pile beans, cheese, avocado, sour cream, and salsa on top of a mound of chips, and they don't skimp on any of the ingredients. If you want an extra kick, ask them to put jalapeƱos on top. You can't beat it for four dollars. - Josh , posted 10/16/04

El MEJOR Pollo a la Parilla!! (& it's El FAROlito!)
The best Pollo a la Parilla (barbecued chicken) burrito imaginable. Without a doubt the best burrito in the Mission, if not all of San Francisco.
The salsa verde is sublime as well.
The fact that it consistently wins "Best Burrito" each year in the Latino weeklies' "Best Of" thang is testament to the greatness that is El Farolito. - Greg , posted 10/15/04

my favorite taqueria!
Fresh and large portioned but inexpensive food!

This place has the best burritos, quesadillas, and their tacos are stuffed to explosion with meat! Offcourse I can't leave out the delicious tortas! Try it with carne asada...

They have a good variety of fresh salsas made from scratch - my personal favorite is the salsa verde which is made from tomatillos.
Not only fresh salsas but also refreshing aguas frescas which they also make from scratch - the horchata and fresa flavors are lovely!

When you leave, your stomach will be full without your wallet completely empty

Since they're opened late it's always nice to go for a late night bite, but the atmosphere can be a little rough and sketchy. I recommend dining there at lunch or dinner hrs - the staff is more laid back and friendlier since they don't have to deal with drunks and loiterers. - sharkie , posted 10/15/04

Best damn mexican food in the bay

not sure if i spelled it right...
El Farrolitos has by far the best (and biggest) quesadilla's i've had in this city. they're spicy, but not too spicy, and packed with love... most places give you quesadillas with just meat and cheese, but el farrolitos packs in guacamole, salsa, onions and other lovely stuff - Anthony , posted 10/12/04

Simply the best
Other places get more press, for reasons that elude me, but El Farolito is easily the best in the city, and not just for the veggie. The "green sauce" is amazing, like nothing I've tasted anywhere else. And the secret to their total superiority is that they put the tortilla on the grill, not in a steamer. Eating a burrito from one of those steamed things is like eating a burrito through a dental dam.

24th & Mission, literally next door to BART, and they're open late. Also try the bar next door; real friendly people and some great strolling Mexican music (mostly norteno). - Paul , posted 09/30/04

This is my favorite burrito restaurant in SF!
it is really cheap, but I don't think you could pay to get anything better in the whole city.

My usual orders:
- regular burrito with carne asada
- quesadilla suiza
- strawberry ("fresa") aguas frescas - Barney , posted 07/10/04

Yum.
El Farolito at 24th and Mission rocks. Open late, always good. I've live over on 23rd and Valencia and have been going here for about 12 years. The salsa verde is really good. The super casadea is huge. One of the best burritto places in the Mission. Cancun is OK and El Toro blows. Farolito is the king. - Bobzilla , posted 05/27/05
