overated
I thought it stunk. A tired old retread of 70s cheesey selflovecrossed with wacky poetics written by an arrogant self-involved, self-rightious boring ... well I could keep throwing in adjectives but I don't really have an adequate noun.
I especially liked it when this silly lesbian who's had 3 abortions knocked my form of birth control (the cap) because it was "invented by a man" something that I'm not sure is even true, and anyway it has to be imported into the united states by the feminist women's health center, because no one can make any money off it so it's not made in this country. And THAT'S Not even good enough for her.
She give Andrea Dworkin a run for her money in terms of bitchover feminism.

Maybe the 2nd edition was better. Or the 2nd half of the first.

but I doubt it. - , posted 10/19/06

Read it Love it...Recommend it!
I read this book in a bookstore that was going out of business afew years back..didn't have the cash on me...to buy it then!...I found it fun, colorful...and refreshing...good writing!
Since then iI have Run a bookstore...and orderd the book a few times for customers!
The man who ran the store before me...when ordering the book would Not say "CUNT" over the phone to the bok distributors...he would spell C-U-N-T!
It is interesting...indeed how language conditioned we are!
Thanks for the recommnendation and review! : ) (*) - sue , posted 04/15/06

great book on women, their lives, and the c-word
I was at dinner the other night, and a friend was describing when she knew that a second date was over: he used the C-word.

I don't know anyone who has strong feelings about this word, what it means to them, when they first heard it, and what they do when they hear it. I would most strongly recommend this book to young women (high school to college) who are exploring how/where they fit into society. However, this is not an anti-male book, and is accessible to everyone. It's also very easy to read as the author tells a lot of stories of her own life and I remember it also being funny at times. - Jenni , posted 03/30/06
